The yellow cedar, a tree native to the Alaskan coast, is dying out because of rising global temperatures. The snowpack acted sort of like a blanket that kept the shallow roots of the yellow cedar insulated. Now, when the extreme cold hits, the soil freezes, and the yellow c Cedar dies.
