The Mysterious Dog in Milan
Milan was struck with a horrific plague in 1630. King Philip the 4th of Spain sent word that four Frenchmen had escaped from prison and were spreading the plague using poisonous ointment. The hysteria increased when citizens reported seeing people placing poison ointments in a cathedral. But while authorities found nothing in the cathedral, all the doors along the main street of Milan the next day were marked with a mysterious dog.
