The Cherokee Version of History, Not Alternative Facts

Delina and her dad walked most of the Trail of Tears from North Carolina to Oklahoma. Delina ended up writing a one woman show about the experience because it was such a formative experience for her. And I had her read part of the play where they make friends with this guy named Sam. He's Cherokee, but he's not enrolled and he's trying to learn more about who he is and where he's from. The whole tribe rejected the Treaty of New Achota, but the US government was determined to remove our people.
