If you were sitting in a conservatory with regular single pane glass, all day without sun. You would definitely get burned over a second of hours. However, if you were in a car, it's slightly different because car windscreens have a plastic layer bonded between two layers of glass which blocks all the UVB and 80% of the UVA. Why does looking in the general direction of the sun make me sneeze? Nobody knows. It affects about a third of people, doesn't it? Yeah, but they don't actually know.
