Early Roman Cemeteries - Are We Getting Spring Up Around This Time?
Some of our very best burials actually come from this early period. On the west side of town, and not far from the old bailey, there are these cremations. And we've got an amazing porphyry urn on display in the british museum with some lead canisters next to it. It's a style of vessel used for only the highest status people.
