What's the Point of the Story?
When you start with the world building and the government and the science, what it actually causes the reader to do is stat hunting. And that's like a term in photography, when the your focus doesn't understand what it's supposed to focus on. An it's like kind of zooming and zoming out, like weight where's the subject? Is that the subject? I'm not sure. That's exactly what my brain does when i go into the story. So i'm like hunting for the thing to focus on."
