The Importance of Staying in a Restaurant in the Summer of 2020
UK scheme in August of 2020 was meant to get people back into restaurants. Chancellor Rishi Sunak's E-Tout claimed 160 million meals were claimed by this scheme. One thing that really stuck in my mind was going for takeout in the summer of 2020 and the fast food dressing was absolutely packed. And then I was offered quite a lot of money off the bill. If I would stay in the restaurant and eat it rather than taking it home to the family, and that did seem very strange after and disorienting after months where we'd been trying to avoid all forms of human contact.
