What Was That Experience Like as a High School Student?

As a high school student, you received letters from colleges all over the country. What's that experience like of being so young and having so many people want you to join them in their mission? Was their jealousy from your friends? Was their support? And then if we fass forward a few years and you're an olympian and in college, a college athlete, is such a crazy concept.
