It's been 50 years since the Lyre-Ris River and all of that. I mean, your mind goes back to something like Polybius saying how Rome was able to conquer so much East within 50 years or so. But this seems a similar kind of thing. By the end of the Sammite Wars, effectively Rome controls most of central and southern Italy. And it's well on the way to controlling the bits further north as well.
