The Complexity of Intelligence
The idea of intelligence is very seductive, but we've got to be very careful that we don't go into intelligent design which we're on since. We do not make penicillin because it's too hard to make, and if we did it, it would be too expensive to use. The same with the artemisinin. Synthesizing it would make it too expensive to used as an anti-malarial. And so we either rely on the plant to make it for us, or we want... Because extracting things from plants is not easy. It's also growing enough plants to produce the art Artemisinin.
