Colonial models of resilience so tend to neglect the systemic violence that may be inflicted upon youth of color, regardless of how resilient they strive be. We understand resilience as something that is shaped and re shaped by political and cultural contexts. Rather than labelling students and communities as either quote, at risk or quote, resilient, we encourage edicate educators to foster a relational resilience in which are encouraged to engage with their emotions,. welcome their intersectional identities and work toward compassion for themselves and those around them.
