The Denial of Mortality in American Culture
I was thinking about one of the things about this town cruston that when I first read about it years ago in Spain. This is the only place in North America that has a permit for open-air cremations. It's sort of like an Asian Indian kind of by the Ganges kind of ritual. We lodge ourselves in these physical objects as a way of denying that we ourselves are much less lasting than the flashlights or the stuff right and then we put the body in a hermetically sealed stainless steel coffin which is just cluttering the earth you know for 10,000 years or whatever.
