How Do You Handle Multi State Amicus Briefs?
When I was in Georgia, central amicus briefs from multi state issues are constantly being slung through the multi state actual litigation efforts. Sometimes we'll have an idea that it's going to be a particular group of states are the only ones who may have any interest, and in that circumstance we'll send it to the people who may have interest. If we know other folks are on the other side we're probably not going to waste our time. Setting the brief or giving them the advantage of reading the brief before it's filed.
