The Importance of Independent Voters
The point truth is, it's virtually impossible for a third party candidate to win. Most independents out there are what we call leaners. So they're overwhelmingly likely to vote for the party that they always vote for. Only about 7% of the electorate is actually a swing voter and will look at them both with genuine equal opportunity.
