The Evolution of Cryptocurrencies

I think the fact that there are a lot of altcoins means that developers, computer programmers, and other enthusiasts are potentially playing around with different variations on Bitcoin. I think that's good for Bitcoin and the whole ecosystem overall because it provides real experimentation so that we can sort of figure out as a community which ideas are good and which ideas are bad. A particular test case was Ethereum; they added a whole lot of new features in ideas to the basic idea of a cryptocurrency. Some people claim that it's been abused at this point, but I'll leave that for listeners to decide.
