The Importance of Public Safety in America
There have been more homicides in the neighborhood that I'm raising my family in in Austin over the course of these last few years, than many of the other more affluent neighborhoods in the city of Chicago combined. And so when you ask about how I think about this and how I approach it, I approach it through the lens of someone who is living it every single day. So what I've said repeatedly, and what we've already began to implement in my first three weeks, is that we have to have a layered approach and everyone has to participate in investing in public safety.
