Saudi Arabia and the Arab League in the Middle East
Saudi Arabia and the UAE played a major role in reintegrating Syria. The UAE is actually quite close, has been close with the Assad family. They're actually friends, but hasn't really been as antagonistic towards Syria as maybe some of the other Gulf states were. I think from the UAE's perspective, re-engaging with Assad was basically about coming to terms with the inevitable.
