Movies With NC-17 Ratings - Basic Instinct
Post-production on Basic Instinct 2 was tricky, because there was a lot of nucky that was shot. The American ratings board slapped the film with an NC-17 rating. In one of the most bizarre pieces of casting in all the time I've been doing this podcast, some of that $70 million went to former footballer Stan Collemore. It didn't have distribution elsewhere around the world, so Entertainment Film Distributors picked it up in the UK and Sony released it in the US. But critics were hostile - they tore it apart, absolutely tore it apart. And well, heading into the opening weekend, its chances were depleting fast. StillSony gave it a good go
