Tobacco is thought to have been cultivated and smoked for thousands of years by indigenous peoples in the americas. The turning point in tobacco's history was when the italian explorer christopher columbus, arrived on the island of cuba. When columbus tried smoking these mysterious leaves himself, he found that he rather liked how it made him feel.
