How to Create Tension From Past Experiences

The idea of creating tension from, from those past experiences, I think is a lot of fun too. You could have someone in your party who is selfless. They're all in on the team. But did they come to that road because they weren't that way? And there are people out there in the world who remember how they used to be and then create that tension of trying to navigate who they were versus who they are.
