The Problems of Slicing and Tasting

For Lenin, the idea of bosses and bossing people around would simply atrophy. John Maynard Keynes said that once we had baked a sufficiently large economic pie so that everyone could have enough was the really hard one. The problems of equitably distributing what was produced and then utilizing it properly for safety, security, health and happiness are much easier than they appear to be right now. And why have the problems of slicing and tasting flummoxed us so completely? That's one of the really interesting questions of post 1870 history.
