The Fear of Earnestness in Succession

There are some really beautiful moments of connection between people. But it's almost like this fear of earnestness stops it from ever being cloying. Sarah was so disappointed when she found out there was no sobbing in the writer's room. Did you know you were going to make something that was about interpretation so much? No, no, I don't think so. What the show has developed into is been quite organic. The generous in telling some personal stuff and some of people's feelings get re-dug into the show. Actually, even funnier if they haven't done anything about their own feelings.
