I think the problem with the Palestinians putting all their hope in America is, first of all, just in terms of American domestic politics, that's a pretty steep hill to climb. I precisely think that Israel only begins to ask itself the question of what the hell do we do on the Palestinian front when they perceive that there's a cost to continue with this?
