Mark barker is a great scholar of radical pedagogy. Ande Frare lays down a whole programme in the book, which i recommend you should read. He comes to the topic of radical and critical p pedagogy through psychoanalysis but also through empirical studies of consciousness imself. What he suggests it that there are different modes of peragogy that we all use. The success of the students doesn't depend on critically engaging with what the teacher, the master has offered, but in just mastering what the master has presented to him.
