Historically, ortant factor in successful insurgencies has been boarders. The russians haven't been very public about their current thinking on a potential a protracted war. If we do get into protracted conflict, what canincernsy people call sanctuary will immediately become an issue for the russians. Even if they are able to secure the whole of ucranian territory, which isn't necessarily feasible, right? Oh, then they're going to have a significant problem with infiltration of fighters and weapons from western europe.
