Congenital Zecasindrome

About one third of children with congenital zecasindrome have an ocular lesion, a clump of cells on the backs of their eyes. Over 95% of these children have a visual impairment so they are not seeing correctly. They still cannot see what another child their age can see because their brain is damaged. By doing all these studies, they are able to understand more about what the virus does and provide interventions that will hopefully reduced the burden on these families.
