The roman calendar is important to us for understanding how the romans constructed time. It was founded by the founder of their city, romulus - only the first calendar. The reason that they came up with this had something to do with crop rotations. And when you can go to war, the romans tend not to fight in winter. But there's a logic that mi hae possessed him, and that might justify his error.
