How Much of an Overlap Is There Between Academic and Simplified English?
Even the most stilted formal English we can imagine probably has a lot of the same bits and bobs as conversational English. It would be interesting to see if we could compare grammatical structures, vocab, things like that. I'm sure there are probably studies doing this from academic linguists, but I'm curious now.
