The Simpson's Paradox

Simpson's paradoxes are really everywhere. Never do data analysis in a vacuum. In the iris data set, overall, seple length is negatively correlated with seple width. But if you look within eight species, seple Length and Seplewidth are actually positively correlated. So i also want to mention that this can happen when you have two numeric variables and a categorical grouping variable too.
