The Rise of Global Authoritarianism

I think that global authoritarianism is on the increase. And what we are seeing is a coming together of retrograde forces internationally, which I think is nearly unprecedented. The biggest threat at the moment comes from the possibility of a war between the United States and China. We have policing powers like never before for all the kind of blather about free speech. It's actually an increasingly unfree society. Unless we can think about how to resist this conglomeration of forces, I think we are in very, very deep trouble.
