This week we're looking at photographic memory, if it exists and why some people can perform such amazing feats of visual memory. Stephen Wilcher drew the Empire State Building from a clear image in his head while I smushed together this best-guess etching from New York-based TV shows. He doesn't look like a child because I like mine as better than hers too. Researching what photographic memory is or might be is actually incredibly difficult. But there are some,. including a highly controversial experiment from 50 years ago that helped popularise the term photographic memory in the first place.
