The unconscious is just so good at taking in all of this information that kind of comes in below the threshold of consciousness, right? I mean, there's this slightly more mysterious side of it and then there's this kind of matter effect. The unconscious knows a lot because it's taking in everything and then chewing it up for patterns and feeding that back to us in our dreams. There's all of that and we were trending in a moment towards the thesis in the righteous mind. The idea that we in fact are constantly cognating on a non-rational level and reaching compelling conclusions. And then the ego is often tasked with justifying those conclusions by scanning the environment and grouping us together based on this
