The first successful ancient DNA experiment was in 1984, when a team extracted DNA from an extinct type of zebra. It's still not possible to bring an extinct species back to life, but there are technologies now that should be able to resurrect some extinct DNA. I asked Beth to walk me through what this might actually look like. How colossal might it become? We'll have to wait and see.
