How to Use Collective Nouns in English
The more typically American way using a singular or the more typically British way using plural. For example, I support Arsenal, the Arsenal football team from London. And I would tend to use are losing or are wonderful or the team are because I'm thinking of those individual players. Here's a few more examples of collective nouns.
