Is Phonics a Good Thing?

There's nothing wrong with having centralised agreed processes and procedures. The issue is who decides and how do we decide? And in the case of phonics, he wasn't incorrect to say that in Clackman and share, there'd been a piece of research which showed children may progress through a pro unapproached to phonics. But that doesn't mean it's Nick Gibbs job to decide that therefore that should happen. We believe that there should be a process of professional questioning and professional approval of various practices and process.
