How Do You Prep a Preached Sermon?

The top questions get from pastors or b how to prep sermons. A lot of work goes into it, and i actually put more time into preping a shorter message often than I do a longer one. And then what i'm doing as i'm looking at does it speak to you? Where are you in it?
