The Troubles of the Labour Party

I remember being aware that we were a Labour household, and I remember being able to stay up till 11 o'clock or something during the 1997 election. And those are really my only political memories of the period. Now what I remember very clearly is the sense of unfolding chaos. There was a definite sense of the public realm decaying. You know, not having an entry phone in our block here and just kind of a general sense of tatiness.
