What Is It All About Really?

Up until the 1880s, a member of the educated classes in say, Britain or America saw themselves as inheritors of this noble tradition of culture. But after World War One people started being confronted by the fact that we've been taught about how the world works and all to work. And one of the solutions people come up with is to adopt some sort of philosophy whereby, well, there is no such thing as truth. Everybody just should believe whatever they want to believe, whatever makes them feel good to believe.
