religious teachings are quite clearly evolutionary. They are drawing from the culture at the time to make small, incremental improvements. So it is not so much that there hasn't been moral progress offered by religious tradition. Of course there has. It just that it's nothing that we wouldn't expect given the natural evolution of ideas through cultural exchange - what you would predict under atheism.
