The Exercise of Statistics Is to Extrapolate Out to the Larger Population
Each human is not fully representative of your population, but a lot of humans together are. So if you don't have a sample that's big enough to capture all of the subtlety in the whole population as a whole, then your extrapolation has a pretty good chance of falling flat on its face. And so the larger the sample that you're able to collect, the more likely that you're getting something that's representative of yourpopulation as a whole and your inferences are better.
