The Motivation Behind Hobby Toy Languages

I know you did some stuff with like using OCaml to build like toy languages and stuff. I'm kind of curious what was like the motivation behind those languages, like those sort of self directed projects where you just tried out new things. So it's a little bit difficult to grok all of it if you already don't have great ownership to begin with. But over time, yeah, I grew to like see certain ideas that I found interesting myself and trying to play around with them.
