In 2014, Difid controlled about 86% of Britain's overseas development assistance. Today the FCDO controls just 60%. Almost 30% of what Britain calls aid is being spent essentially on looking after refugees within Britain. And it's going to be very difficult for Britain to claw back this reputation as a model in the world of aid.
