The symptomatic prevalence of Von Willabrand disease is approximately 1 in 1,000. Vials are more likely to be diagnosed because of increased bleeding challenges. In women, the most common presenting symptom is heavy menstrual bleeding. High estrogen states such as pregnancy or taking an oral contraceptive pill also increases Von Wilberin factor levels.
