The Bird Song Is Not Seductive, but It's Seductive About the Ego
The siren song is seductive about, it seems like it's almost seductive about the egoye. And the ego somehow is lured to its demise that it dissolves into the ocean. Like they throw themselves from their ships, and then they and there's something about the ego death that is implied by the siren song. So we've mentioned a couple of times that the sirens are part bird. Can we talk about why that is and where that comes from?

Liz Andres is a museum professional and scholar based in Los Angeles. She holds degrees in Art History, Classical Archaeology, and Museum Studies from U.C. Berkeley and the University of Leicester, and specializes in museum education and exhibitions. Her current research focuses on hybrid and liminal creatures in ancient Greek art and mythology, and museum taxidermy and representations of death and nature in western art.
