The Story of Frank Molina
Frank Molina was a rocket engineer and member of the Communist Party in the 1930s. During World War II, he is very much involved with a rocketry program at Caltech to help build weapons for the US military. He helps start a company which is still very active today called AeroJet - it makes solid rocket boosters that go into all sorts of missiles and rockets. But after the Second World War, his stock goes skyward as a result of helping start a company making rocket engines to eventually build ICBM. In the early 50s, his passport is not renewed so he's marooned in Paris where he becomes an artist.
