The Myth of Verbal Communication

The adage that only a few percentage of all our communication is verbal and the rest is non-verbal? Is that a great big myth in itself? It's based on research that was done quite a while ago by someone called Albert Merrannon, an American psychologist. The Arghal study, why was that flawed? Well, first of all, if you're going to draw a general conclusion about body language and non-verbal communication in the world, how many people sending the message would you need to use?
