The Safety of Local Anesthesia

Pivicane slow onset about two and a half milligrams per kilogram is what we think of as the safe dose. Chloroproicane I mentioned before as being very rapid and very safe because you can use those high doses up to 10 milligramsper kilogram or 15 with epinephrine. Lidocane even shorter duration than lidocane 30 minutes or up to 60 to 90 withEpinephrine. All right so you'll often hear about adding bicarbonate to an injection of local anesthetic and it can increase the speed of onset but you have to be careful if you use too much you can cause precipitation of the local anesthetic.
