The Courts Challenges to Compel Government Speech
A decision just came down in case out of georged where the local sheriff had yard signs placed on the lawns of registered sex offenders during halloween. The 11 circuits that know, the issue is that they have the right to not say anything at all - which would extend to not having someone put the sign up on their property. There was a lawsuit filed against this, and the eleventh circuit found in favour of the sex offenders,. said that this was an example of compelled government speech.
