The First Wave of Fundamentalism

In the late 19th century, religion in America was starting to become more progressive because society was modernizing. Fundamentals: Religion is religion; it doesn't matter what society does. In 1925, Clarence Darrow used Tennessee versus scopes as an excuse to show how ridiculous and backwards these fundamentalism leads were.
