phosphine is this gas that's just really strongly associated with life. So here on earth, bacteria make it, in swamps and in the intestines of animals. Other scientists have analyzed this data and say, like, they don't see the phosphene. But a lot of people just see phosphine as an exciting clue in the direction of life.
